[I am a Scottish teenager who hates haggis and does not have ginger hair. I have brown curly hair that is extremely unruly and seems to think it has to always be covering my face. I have a nose that is too long to match the rest of my face and teeth that are wonky but don't need braces. I can't click my fingers, whistle or find my heartbeat with a stethascope in Physics. You can read my face like a book at times, and you may not even want to look at my face on other days. People call me cute. I write my essays in pink biro and Bill Shakespeare is my homeboy]

What's Your Gossip Girl Style?

In last week's issue of Grazia they had a feature on the style of each Gossip Girl from the series, their key pieces and A-List followers. I'm obviously not going to copy everything that was written but I shall give you an overview as I can't stop looking back at it.
Blair Waldorf: The Prim One. Blair is very sleek, neat and sophisticated with a lot of influence from the '50s. High-waisted skirts, peep-toe Louboutins, neckties and big hairbands are essential and famous followers feature Rachel Bilson.
Serena Van Der Woodsen: The Sexy One.
She is wearing low necklines and high hemlines, leather jackets, fishnet tight and statement necklaces. Chloe Sevigny is one of her famous style look-a-likes.

Jenny Humphrey: The Cool One.
Must be seen in beanies, plaid shirts and dresses, studded cuffs, black opaque tights to go with killer black boots. Alexa Chung has similar dress sense.

All of a Sudden

Over the past few days I have realised just how much time I spend eating, blogging and spending money on things I don't really need so I am going to try and spend more time doing homework and working towards my upcoming exams. But everyone deserves a break so here are some pictures I have rounded up over the past week or so.
Saturdays outfit. Topshop tee; Primark skirt; H&M skirt; Traidcraft necklace.
I'm not a big wearer of jewellery but I normally wear this sort of stuff. Traidcraft necklace; New Look (Chanel style) hairband; Bracelets from Xmas cracker.
One of my friends took this picture of me at my drama class. I look rather awful as my eyebrows are lighter than my hair but I love the penguin so much I just had to show you!
Yet another program on my schedule... Did anyone see the new series of 90210 on E4 last night (Brits)? I only saw about twenty minutes. Does it get any bitchier because that's the whole reason I watched it! And who is watching Gok Wan's Too Fat, Too Young tonight (Brits again?). I think it will be very deep and meaningful as he will be talking to teenagers who are obese. As a young boy, Gok Wan was bullied for being fat, gay and Chinese all at the same time so we will maybe see a new side to Gok tonight.

Leave Out All the Rest

...By Linkin Park. I listen to the Twilight soundtrack far too much. But it does still bug me how they didn't put the Radiohead song on the CD, that's the first song of the credits with all the clapping, so irritating!

A rather unusual day passed by me today. I can't really think about it though as I have very bad stomach cramps so I shall give you some little sights.

Giving French partner his book that I borrowed back in registration and apologised for spilling some water on it. Then to have the whole class suspect us of dating. Gawd.

Playing dodge ball in PE and doing rather well, until I was distracted by the student PE teacher who is like WOW! Then I got hit and put out.

Instead of paying attention to how a lens corrects vision, I was looking out the door at the sexiest guy in my year finishing his Physics test which he missed. Now I have no idea what a cornea is.
But, in English I am doing a talk on Matt Parkman from Heroes and why he should be "President of the World." If you watch Heroes and you have some decent reasons for him please tell me as I want to beat D H who is doing Peter Petrelli.

When You Say I'm Addicted

One of my main resolutions for the New Year was to stop shopping at Primark as I need to bring more quality and long lasting life into my wardrobe. I.e. everything won't fall apart after one wash. But Primark have been doing some rather fabulous (yeah that resolution sort of died put too) stuff recently. Like the Chanel style pumps I showed you a few posts back, which I love, and now this skirt which was £9. So simple and just perfections in my mind. I think it would go better with my long grey cardigan as there is a tad too much blue going on.
No, I haven't abandoned you...
It's just that I have been rather busy. Well, reading Gossip Girl is very time consuming and my kitchen and dining room have been getting painted so my dad couldn't use the table so had to steal the desktop which I always use as all my photos are on it. But the painter has finally finished so I have the computer back!
And on that note...
To all you Brits reading this, get your remotes at the ready as Gossip Girl returns to ITV 2 at 9 tonight. I have to confess that I have never watched Gossip Girl but tonight is when I shall be converted. . Have a great night and next time in town, I shall wear my man hat with pride!

Why Does She Dress Like A Bloody Man?

My new long cardigan! I was very excited when I saw it in New Look but I wish I had got the H&M one instead as it was just as expensive but had nicer material. But oh well...
Over the last few days while in town I have seen every other good looking guy out wearing what my friends refer to as my 'gnome hat' from Topshop.
I got it ages ago and my sightings of it on the head of the other gender are becoming a lot more often and scary. My oh-so-camp RE teacher was wearing one at lunch once and that has scared me out of wearing it over the last few days. Help! What do guys find attractive in a women's hat, that is found in the women's section?!?!?! Or the other way round, I guess...

And on a final note...
Thank you so much for the wonderfully comforting words from last post. You had me smiling again in a few minutes and it won't be fading soon. You are all so lovely to me and thank you once again! xx

Not Good

With the recent and not very appealing events that have invaded my some what peaceful life, I have been feeling rather miserable and shit about myself. I should have been happy in town today because I have been accepted as one of the few to do an upcoming dance exam, but I felt consumed my the growing feeling of rejection and despair. My second viewing of Twilight should have been a lot more enjoyable but I could not stop thinking about the balloon of guilt and embarrassment that was growing in the pit of my stomach. So I have decided to follow the advice of Camilla and write down all of my favourite things to improve my mood.
  1. TV. I watch so much it must be unhealthy. My favourite shows are Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Heroes, Robin Hood, Merlin, Demons and probably a lot more but I can't think of them right now.
  2. Musicals. I love the musicals that everyone hates. The cheesier the music the better! I have been to see Wicked, Footloose, Cats and Miss Bollywood that had Shilpa Shetty in it! I am also a fan of Chicago, Oliver and Blood Brothers though I am yet to see them.
  3. Food. I feel so sorry for everyone out there who can't eat. Especially those who are less fortunate than I and have to go for days with out anything. But this is to those who don't want to eat. You don't know what you are missing out on. I am so addicted to sushi, ravioli pasta with mushrooms, ham and cheese toasted bagels with salsa, chicken fajitas with mozzarella, peppers and hummus toasted and those really big muffins in the John Lewis cafe.
  4. Music. What would I do without you oh faithful iPod who has survived being dropped, lost and going through the washing machine. Music is practically my life. I so in love with Kings of Leon (!!!!), Radiohead, Muse, The Feeling, Mark Ronson, Manic Street Preachers, Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian. I'm sure I have written all this down before but who cares.
  5. Dancing. Sometimes with me, dancing is a crime. I must look like such a prat/freak/total arse but I love it anyway. I have been dancing since I was four and have loved every moment of it. Ballet is my favourite and I am getting points soon, the shoes with the blocks at the bottom. Very sore! I'm going to see the Russian ballet perform Swan Lake with my friend soon which should be ace! We always get ice cream at break =)

I feel quite a bit better now, thnk you so jch Camilla, you are a star! Sorry for the very uninteresting posts right now as everything has been all doom and gloom but things are starting to perk up slightly so I should be happy once again by next week. Have a brilliant rest of the weekend! xx

Flash

I tagged myself =S after reading the Minx's latest post she said anyone could give it a go, so I obviously went for it!

The Rules
1. Go to the 4th folder in your computer where you store your pictures.

2. Pick the 4th picture in that folder.

3. Explain the picture.

4. Tag 4 people to do the same!

Yeah, that's my cat called Ruby. She is 5 and enjoys eating, sleeping by my radiator and catching worms in the garden and leaving them where I am going to stand in the morning with bare feet. Not nice! I love her really though. Her eyes look kind of freaky because of the flash but I think the whole tongue thing is cute. She never licks me.

Do it if you fancy, it's kind of cute!

About Time

"This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into the body of their award."

This fabulous award was given to me by Demi with her blog Fashionably Early. She said that I was

"The loveliest, funniest, sweetest girl ever. She has such a good sense of humour and has treated me like a friend ever since she started visiting here - and I am so grateful. She just seems to be nice to everyone and always leaves the sweetest comments!"

I absolutely adore her blog, she is so lovely has has amazing style. I would like to pass this award on to:

Daisy I love her cute and simple style that just makes me smile and how she collects little accessories and necessities. She leaves the most sweet and kind comments every time and is very generous with the give away she did a while back. Need I say more?

Jaleh She does her amazing blurry photos that I am so addicted to and combines this with such amazing style. I especially love her grey skirt from the 9th January post, she is subtle with her infrequent yet fabulous posts! I want more =D

Nat Our conversations about British boys. Ha ha! Wow, I love her photos that are so random but taken so well. I especially love the little doodles she does, most fabulous hand writing I have ever seen!

Petra She does the most beautiful and elegant photos I have ever seen. She has such a grace about her that makes me green with envy but she is so calming and modest. One of the most versatile and incredible blogs I have come across.

Miriam She does the most lovely photos of her going about in Barcelona while it rains very heavily outside my window. There is a very elegant and simple style about her and this shows in her lovely personality as well. You can't help but love her!

The Seeker She is one of the kindest, loveliest , sweetest people in the world. Getting so many comments with every post and replying to every single one in a true and genuine way makes me smile and love her even more! And of course, her style is exemplary!

Alice I haven't been reading this girl's writings for a while but already I am intrigued. She takes the most beautiful pictures of the most simple things but makes them even more beautiful, like her snow ones. Check out her artwork as well, I thought only computers could do that!

Char and Sea I love these girls so much. They both work together on Fashionsqueah! Possibly the coolest name ever and they have some true style! Both are fellow Topshop addicts and can work possibly every look there is. They are so lovely, funny and polite and never fail to put a smile on my face!

I know I first mentioned this ages ago but I completely forgot about it. Actually! Please bear with me =) xx

New Born

He saw me coming down the road and at once his face lit up. His foot stopped tapping to the beat of Radiohead that was coming from his earphones and suddenly became more interested in making sure his hair looked OK. I grinned at his vanity and made my short legs carry my rather squat figure closer to him, even though my blisters were making my feet burn and itch. My hair was flustered and getting in my eyes, my cheeks red and my back acing with the weight of my books but I didn't care because I was with him, getting closer and closer. His blond hair flopping slightly over his eyes, his huge rucksack on the ground next to his bulging art folder full of masterpieces and the sports bag holding his hockey stick. I could already remember his smell, the way my heart missed a beat every time he touched me. The way he stroked my hand with his thumb, put my hair behind my ear, going out of his way just to hug me. He looked exhausted after his long day at school, dark circles starting to form underneath his bright blue eyes, but he was still beautiful. He was beyond hot, in my eyes he was perfection. High cheek bones of a grown man, but filled with pure innocence and full lips that were soft and gentle at the touch. I reached out my hand to him and was about to take it but I suddenly remembered where I was sitting and who I was. In a crowded maths class. Single. With my sexist pig of a teacher yelling at me. Yay.

Today, what I was thinking when I should have been doing Boxplots, or whatever they were...

My events after school were not as magical as I hoped they would be. I bought these shoes from Primark, the new issue of Vogue and a Starbucks hot chocolate. It was extremely strong and now I feel a little sick. Great!
You can now add me on mylookfashion.co.uk! Just search for Strawberry Fields if you are a member and if you are not try applying! So worth it =D xx

Strawberry Fields

I have been tagged by the lovely Petra. and I need to write some random stuff about my self so...

  • I play La Crosse and I am not very good at it. Me and my friends have a lot of Wild Child moments while playing! Yeah, the guys in the opposing team are suddenly rather distracted once we have done the dance =)

  • I play the keyboard and oboe, which is described by my band as 'a duck on crack being strangled'. I feel so loved. Yeah, I am very musical.

  • The only music I listen to is rock, classical and stuff from the ballet. I hate all dance music and believe it should be banned for the good of mankind.

  • One of my longest running obsessions is collecting posh shopping bags. In my collection right now I have a small All Saints, huge Abercrombie and Fitch (with the eight pack on it...) and a dinky Calvin Klein undies.

  • I am so guy obsessed its unhealthy. The boys I most love are Milo Ventimiglia from Heroes, Christian Bale who is batman and Robert Pattinson of Twilight. Can you resist?

I am going to tag:

Demi

Nat

The Seeker

Miriam

I think I should tell you now that I have got over my Chemistry Crush, even though I will be going camping with him in May. I have moved onto another boy who my friends like to, call 'Tuba boy'. 'Tuba boy' is tall, blond with soft features and a very high 'I look sexy in a shirt and tie, but I don't know it' factor. He plays Tetris on his phone when he should be socialising. My first response to this was 'Does he have a life?' and my friend returned it with, 'You can give him one'. The only problem is that he will most certainly be younger than me by at least a year, I am guessing. But even J S thinks he is hot. She never says that about boys, so he could be the one...

Love it?

Little Brown Bags

I have recently been very envious of those who own brown leather satchels. Miriam. and Petra. were showing off theirs while I sat and read enviously at their very desirable accessory. So I was over the moon to discover a brown satchel in Peacocks the other day for a tenner. I was so pleased and utterly over the moon!
I am getting quite into buying bags cheap. I have an uncountable amount of bags from Primark and I have this other bag from Peacocks which was also £10. I have used it so much.
I need to be careful with these bags though as they do not have much structure and if you don't have enough stuff in them thy just flop about. They do continue on the the slouchy trend I guess though!
Here is my outfit that I was wearing at my Gran's party while I was writing my last post. I bought the top in Pisa and I was disappointed with it as soon as I tried it on for the first time. It was too long to be a top, too short to be a dress and had too much material to be a tunic that I enjoyed wearing. But I tried it on with my beloved Primark skirt and voila! I fancied trying it with braces or would that be too much?

Zara tunic, H&M cardigan, Primark skirt, M+S tights, Bracelets stolen off mum who got one from a raffle and the other from a cracker on Xmas day!

As usual, sorry about the extremely bad quality of photos. My camera seriously sucks.
Thank you for your very comforting words from the last comment! Relatives can be so annoying so thank you for letting me have a good moan!

Great Expectations

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I am writing this at my Gran's trying not to make too much noise as she thinks I am having a 'lie down'. I have been greeting endless relatives who I have never heard of and don't recognise. Then they start saying, 'Oh how much you have grown!' Well that's what happens! I have been asked about 25 times tonight what I want to be and been told at least 50 times that they are 'expecting excellent exam results'. Likely that's going to happen. Everyone wants me to be a geologist, a mechanical engineer (like my dad) or a teacher (like half my family.) The only thing that has kept me going tonight is my great aunt's banoffee pie. Wow!

Right now I could be at home. Watching my Heroes boxset. Hmmm. Stay tuned though as in the next few posts I will be showing you a new outfit, my christmas presents and the blogs I will be passing my award onto! Exciting stuff!

15 Steps

I have decided to turn my life around this year. Well, I say that every year but, this year is going to be different. Here is what I am going to do to make me into a better person.
  1. Don't say 'fabulous' as often. It makes me sound repetitive and uninspired.
  2. Make sure my lips don't spread over my teeth when I smile. It makes me look like I have had botox or I am wearing too much lippy.
  3. Do more productive activities on week nights. For example, not looking on bebo profiles of people I don't know and watching Friends re-runs on E4. I have seen them all before.
  4. Do more productive things on week ends. Like not going to see films I have already seen three times and walking around All Saints for half an hour. I can't afford it!
  5. Spend my money on better things. Like intelligent novels or school books or classical music. Not endless copies of Harper's Bazaar and Vogue.
  6. Save my money better so I don't have another incident of running out of credit in Starbucks.
  7. Only go to Starbucks no more than twice a month. It's too expensive and not good for my figure.
  8. Work out at least four times a week for at least half an hour each time so I can go back to my old dress size.
  9. Eat more healthily by eating less salsa on my wrap at lunch and not going to Starbucks. For the same reasons as above.
  10. Persuade my mum to get a French tutor so I have a chance at passing my exam. My French teacher sucks so badly.
  11. Don't get addicted to Internet browsing and shopping. It will make my chances of debt in later life a lot more likely.
  12. Stop the Primark addiction now. Quality of clothes in my wardrobe is essential.
  13. Get a new wardrobe. How am I supposed to put everything I wear in two shelves and one rail?
  14. Be friendlier to people I talk to face to face. It is not J R's fault if she wants to have brown hair and ginger eyebrows.
  15. Prove to my chemistry crush that I am clever, mature and sophisticated. And that I understand the rules of rugby. Well, that might be pushing it a little!

New Years Eve Celebrations

Well, it's official. 2009 is here! Last night I was at my parent's friends house where there was like fifty people crammed into one room for the countdown. We were the last to leave and we got home at 3:30. I woke up this morning with my hair sticking up and a fuzzy brain as I tried to remember what happened last night. I think I had one too many glasses of Baileys!

And Whatever Lies Ahead

  • Exams at school. Exams for keyboard. Exams for oboe. Exams for dancing. Exams for drama. Why do I bother?
  • The return of Robin Hood to BBC1 for all us Brits. Jonas Armstrong!
  • The extension to my shopping centre being opened and a whole new centre being opened as well. It will have Zara and Mango!
  • Having to play in the huge theatre for my concert band, twice. I'm not nervous...
  • Confessions of a Shopoholic, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and New Moon coming out in cinemas. Excited or what?

And if you can suggest anymore, I guess I have a fabulous year ahead of me! Well, that's number 1 broken already! =)

If I haven't said it already to you, Happy New Year and have a fabu....amazing year! All the best for '09!

'15 Steps' is a song by Radiohead from their alum 'In Rainbows'. It is featured in the Twilight movie and plays in the credits. Watch the rather rubbish video here.
